Cadibo: an 8,000-product store, fast and easy to manage

A B2B store for personal protective equipment, with thousands of products, tens of thousands of size and colour variations and suppliers with their own feeds. We rebuilt it on WooCommerce, from design to server, so it is fast for customers and simple to keep up to date for the team.

Starting point

A huge catalogue, hard to use and hard to maintain

Cadibo sells personal protective equipment to companies: over 8,000 products, almost all with sizes and colours, from T-shirts and boots to power tools and fire safety gear. The old store had grown as products were added, without a structure designed for that volume.

  • Every colour was a separate product: a T-shirt in 12 colours appeared 12 times in listings, and the customer never saw all the options in one place.
  • Supplier stock and prices were kept by hand, so they were either outdated or made up so orders would not get blocked.
  • Listing pages rendered slowly, product cards carried useless data, and on mobile the site was not designed for fingers.
  • There was no pricing rule: for one supplier, VAT ended up applied twice, and the sales team complained about “doubled” prices.
What we did

Five directions, one store

WordPress with WooCommerce and Avada, so the Cadibo team can edit pages themselves, plus custom code where off-the-shelf plugins stop.

Design and experience

  • Responsive on mobile, designed for touch rather than adapted from desktop.
  • Home page with the main categories and direct actions.
  • Mega menu with images, on desktop and mobile, tuned for 250 categories.
  • Product card with everything needed: price with and without VAT, colours, sizes, add to cart from the list.
  • Product page with colours as swatches, sizes as buttons and a photo for every colour.
  • Customer account organised around orders; single-page checkout, fast and clear.

Functionality

  • Integrated online payment, with automatic invoicing.
  • Delivery via FAN Courier, with shipping rates calculated at checkout.
  • Sign in with Google, for customers who order often.
  • Supplier feeds: products, prices and stock updated automatically every few days, with an explicit pricing rule and new products created on their own.
  • An admin tool that merged 1,732 “one per colour” products into 630 products with variations, with redirects for the old addresses.

Performance

  • Page cache with WP Rocket, including for logged-in customers, with automatic warm-up of category pages.
  • Redis for the object cache.
  • Imagify for optimised images and WebP.
  • Custom code reviewed: cards no longer carry useless data (a listing page's HTML went from 1.3 MB to 0.6 MB).

SEO

  • All templates on the right structure: titles, heading hierarchy, product structured data.
  • Google Analytics, Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools connected.
  • 301 redirects for every old product and category address.
  • SEO score 100 and best practices 100 in Lighthouse.

Security and infrastructure

  • Two-factor authentication for administrators.
  • Application firewall, unneeded communication channels closed.
  • Everything containerised on a dedicated server, with daily backups.
  • Transactional email through a dedicated SMTP service, so the company's addresses and IP never land in spam.

What the client says
For us, CodeZeep is like an in-house IT department, not someone who built something and left. They advise us along the way, come up with ideas that are genuinely worth following, and the budgets are fair and kept to. The store is now fast and easy to manage, and our sales colleagues work with prices and stock they can trust.
